The Montana 1000E Post Pounder

Using the Montana Post Pounder.

We purchased the pounder this year needing something that could tackle the hard rock found throughout Indian Valley. Given the price I had high expectations.

The Montana 1000E comes with a rock spike that will drive through the rock creating a pilot hole for the post. It also has a rock bit to drill through most rock.

It’s been excellent for driving drill pipe through rock. I don’t have anything bad to say about the pounder. It has a lot of power when driving. My only criticism is the pounder does not come with a T-post guide. However, it wasn’t a big deal since I was able to fashion a guide out of 2 3/8 drill pipe welded onto one of the pounding adaptors.

If you want to build your fence yourself but looking to speed up the job, we offer both post hole drilling services as well as post pounding. It will save you money when stringing wire yourself and considerable time vs. digging holes by hand.
